No. 1 UCLA Rallies to Beat No. 4 Florida State, 3-2

GULF SHORES, Ala.ย -- No. 1ย UCLA (11-0) remained undefeated on the year with a 3-2 come-from-behind win over No. 4 Florida Stateย (10-3) in the Bruins' second dual of the March to May event at Gulf Beach Place.ย UCLA improved toย 11-7 all-time against FSU with its seventh-straight win over the Seminoles.
Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer defeated sophomore Lexy Denaburgย and junior Abby Van Winkle in straight sets on court one, 21-19, 21-11, to put FSU up 1-0.
Then Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick defeatedย senior Lea Monkhouse and sophomore Rileigh Powers on court two to put FSU up 2-0 with a 21-14, 21-15 victory.
The Bruins' rally began on court three where sophomore Devon Newberry and redshirt sophomore Jaden Whitmarshย took down Keara Rutz and Alex Hilton, 26-24, 21-14.
Florida graduate transfer Marlie Monserez and freshman Jessie Smithย tied the dual at 2-2 with a come-from-behind win on court five over Kate Privett and Raelyn White, 18-21, 21-18, 15-9.
The Bruins'ย undefeated freshman duo of Natalie Myszkowski and Sophie Moore also had to rally to remain undefeated and seal UCLA'sย 3-2 win on court four over Anna Long and Jordan Polo, 17-21, 21-18, 15-12.
The Bruins will continue the March to May event tomorrow with No. 13 Georgia State (7:00 a.m. PT) and No. 20 Tulane (3:00 p.m. PT).
