DAVIS, Calif. --ย No. 2 UCLA (9-0) got off to a slow start but rallied to defeat No. 11 Princeton (8-2), 8-6, in its third game of the Aggie Roundup on Saturday morning at UC Davis' Schaalย Aquatics Center.ย UCLA improved to 17-0 in the series history against the Tigers.The Bruins only had five players score in the game, which included three players with a team-high two goals (sophomore Chase Dodd, super senior Jake Cavano, and super senior Evan Rosenfeld). Dodd tied as the game'sย leading scorer with four points as he also was credited with a couple of assists.
Senior Bernardo Maurizi kept UCLA in the game (never led until the 3:03 mark of the fourth quarter) with a season-high 12 saves. He also had one steal while allowing six goals (four on power plays and one on a counter).
Roko Pozaric led Princeton with four points (three goals, one assist) and Antonio Knezย had five saves while surrendering eight goals to UCLA.
PERIOD ONE
> Princeton outscored the Bruins 3-1 in the first period.
> Super senior Evan Rosenfeld had the lone goal forย UCLA (4:29) from the front court in the first that tied it at 1-1.
> The Tigers scored the final two goals of the period (2:57 and 0:45).
PERIOD TWO
> The two teams battled to a 2-2 draw as Princeton took a 5-3 leadย into the break.
> Pozaric scored his second of the game (6:04) to open the scoring in the second, giving Princeton its largest lead of the game at 4-1.
> Redshirt sophomore Gianpiero Di Martire scored from the front court off a pass from senior Cameron Reagan (1:45) and then Cavano scored a power play goal (0:37) off a feed from Dodd to cut the Tigers' lead to 4-3.
> But Pozaric regained the momentum for Princeton, completing his hat trick on a power play (0:17) to end the scoring in the first half.

PERIOD THREE
> UCLA outscored Princeton 2-1ย in the third quarter, but still trailed 6-5 headingย into the final period.
> The Bruins looked like they would take control early when they got front court scores from Dodd (7:08) and redshirt junior Jack Larsen (6:12) to tie the game at 5-5.
> But UCLA went 0-for-4 from the field the rest of the quarter and committed one turnover to stay at five goals.
> Princeton regained the lead with a power play goal from Yurian Quinonesย at the 2:43 mark to end the scoring in the third.
PERIOD FOUR
> UCLA finally asserted itself in the fourth quarter, winning 3-0, to provide the 8-6 final.
> Dodd got the equalizer from the front court off a feed from Larsen (6:03).
> Cavano's second goal (power play) proved to be the game-winner (3:03) and gave the Bruins their first lead of the game at 7-6. Freshman Gray Carson drew an exclusion and Cavano took a feed from Dodd to score on the power play.
> Rosenfeld netted his second of the game from the front court when he took a pass from Cavanoย (1:38) to end the scoring.

The Bruins will end the Aggie Roundup with No. 14 Harvard at 2:15 p.m. PT later today.
