2024 Scholar All-Americans Lilly Reale and Sofia Cook

Reale, Cook Earn Scholar All-America Honors

UCLA's Lilly Reale and Sofia Cook have earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America honors for 2024. Additionally, they were named to the Scholar All-West Region first team, while teammates Quincy McMahon and Jayden Perry were named to the second team.ย 

A first-team Scholar All-American, Reale holds a 3.779 cumulative grade point average. The sociology major from Hingham, Mass. was a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree and a three-time academic all-conference selection. On the field, she was a three-time United Soccer Coaches All-American and three-time conference Defensive Player of the Year, as well as the 2022 Honda Sport Award winner.ย 

Cook, a junior International Developmental Studies major from Huntington Beach, Calif., earned second-team Scholar All-America and first-team Scholar All-Region honors. A three-time academic all-conference honoree, she holds a 3.818 GPA. In 2024, Cook earned first-team United Soccer Coaches All-Region and All-Big Ten honors after tying for the team lead in goals scored.ย 

McMahon, a senior cognitive science major from Carmel, Ind., entered the fall quarter with a 3.767 GPA. She was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team twice in her career and was a three-time academic all-conference honoree. A two-time All-Region and three-time all-conference player, McMahon was named the Big Ten Tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player in 2024.ย 

Perry, who hails from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., posted a 3.558 GPA heading into her senior year. The sociology major earned her third conference All-Academic honor in 2024 and was a second-team All-North Region and All-Big Ten honoree. She was also an all-tournament selection at the Big Ten Tournament, which the Bruins won by allowing zero goals in three games. ย 

Winners of the Scholar All-America and All-Region awards must be juniors or above in athletic standing who have been in residency at the school for at least one full year, with at least a 3.40 cumulative grade point average. They must have played a minimum of 75 percent of the games during the season while being an elite player as supported by playing honors.

Reale and Cook are the seventh and eighth Bruins to receive Scholar All-America honors, joining Valerie Henderson, Abby Dahlkemper, Sarah Killion, Jenna Richmond, Sam Mewis and Lauren Brzykcy.
