No. 2 UCLA Goes 4-0 at East Meets West Invitational

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.ย -- No. 2 UCLA (15-4) earned anotherย pair of dual victories to conclude the East Meets West Invitational at iconic Manhattan Beach Pier, defeating No. 4 Florida State (14-2), 4-1, in the morning dual and then sweeping No. 15 Georgia Stateย (9-8), 5-0, in theย afternoon.

The Bruins improved to 15-9 all-time against the FSU Seminolesย and also improved to 6-0 all-time against the Georgia State Panthers.
To begin the morning dual against FSU, redshirt freshman Kenzie Brower and junior Jessie Smith sealed the Bruins' winย defeating Alli Hansen and Carra Sassack in straight sets, 21-14, 21-12.
In the afternoon dual against the Panthers, graduate student Lexy Denaburg and sophomore Maggie Boyd clinched UCLA's win on court one with a straight-set win over the twin pairing of Angel Ferary and Bella Ferary, 21-14, 21-15.ย Brower and Smith completed the sweep on court three with an easy 21-15, 21-5 win overย Ayla Johnson and Elise Saga.

UP NEXT: The Bruins will have a week off before heading to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the Death Volley Invitational on Mar. 29-30. The Bruins will open the tournament with another rematch against No. 4 Florida State on Friday, Mar. 29 at 11:00 a.m. PT.
