No. 15 Men's Golf Finishes in 10th Place at Golf Club of Georgia

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Sophomore Logan Kim shot 3-under 69 on Sunday in the third and final round of The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational, as the Bruins concluded the three-day tournament in 10th place out of 14 teams.
 
Kim tied for a 14th-place finish on the individual leaderboard, carding 3-under 69 on Sunday for the Bruins' best single-round score in the tournament. He shot 2-under 70 on Friday and 3-over 75 on Saturday.
 
Virginia won the team championship at The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational, posting a team score of 24-under 840, 15 strokes ahead of second-place Duke (9-under 855).
 
UCLA's top finishers, after Kim, included junior Alex Papayoanou and senior Kyle An. Papayoanou shot even par (216) through the three-day tournament, including a final round score of 72 (even par) on Sunday. An finished 6-over 222 overall, carding 5-over 77 on Sunday.
 
The Bruins' other two competitors – sophomore Baylor Larrabee and freshman Tyler Loree – finished in a tie for 54th place (8-over 224).
 
Kim's 3-under 69 score in the third round included seven birdies and four bogeys. Kim, a sophomore from Glendale, Calif., finished one stroke shy of his career-best low round score (of 68, set last season while at Stanford University).
 
The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational marked UCLA's final competition of the fall golf season. The Bruins will be back in action in January of 2026, competing at The Copper Cup in Laguna Niguel, Calif., from Jan. 19-20. One week later, the Bruins will be in action at the Southwestern Invitational in Southern California (at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif.).

Men's Golf Closes Second Round in Tenth Place at Golf Club of Georgia
 
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Senior Kyle An shot 1-under 71 on Saturday in the second round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational as the Bruins finished the day in 10th place out of 14 teams.
 
An was the Bruins' best performer in the second round as UCLA's only golfer to finish the day under par. Through both rounds, An and sophomores Logan Kim and Baylor Larrabee are tied in 27th place, having shot 1-over 145. Junior Alex Papayoanou shot 2-over 74 on Saturday and heads into the third round at even par (144).
 
Larrabee finished the second round 1-over 73 and Kim shot 3-over 75 on Saturday. Freshman Tyler Loree (6-over, 150) finished 5-over 77 in the second round.
 
As a team, the Bruins have shot 2-over 578 through the first two rounds. Just 10 strokes separate the teams slotted fourth through 10th, heading into Sunday's third and final round. USC and Pepperdine are tied for fourth place (568), followed by sixth-place Stanford (569), seventh-place Georgia Tech (572), eighth-place Washington (576) and ninth-place Florida State (577). The top three teams entering Sunday's action are, in order, Virginia (559), Duke (560) and UNC Charlotte (566).
 
An finished the second round with three birdies – all in the first five holes – and two bogeys. He finished with a birdie on the opening hole on Saturday before sinking birdies on holes four and five.
 
DAY ONE RECAP
Men's Golf Tied for Sixth Place on Day One at Golf Club of Georgia
 
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The No. 15-ranked UCLA men's golf team landed in a four-way tie for sixth place, out of 14 teams, through the opening round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational on Friday.
 
Competing at the par-72 course at the Golf Club of Georgia, Junior Alex Papayoanou and sophomore Logan Kim were tied at No. 15 on the individual leaderboard, having each shot 2-under 70 in the opening round. As a team, UCLA carded 3-under 285 through the first 18 holes.
 
The tournament will continue with rounds two and three on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
 
Bruins' sophomore Baylor Larrabee shot even par (72) on Friday. Freshman Tyler Loree finished at 1-over 73, while senior Kyle An shot 2-over 74.
 
Kim registered five birdies and three bogeys in the opening round. Papayoanou finished Friday's action with five birdies, one bogey and one double bogey.
 
Virginia finished the day atop the team leaderboard, having shot 16-under 272. Duke was in second place (11-under 277), while Pepperdine claimed third place (10-under 278) and UNC Charlotte occupied fourth place (9-under 279). USC finished the day in fifth place (6-under 282), before the four-way tie for sixth place – featuring UCLA, host institution Georgia Tech, Florida State and Washington.
 
The second round of the tournament will continue on Saturday, Oct. 25. The Bruins return to the golf course at the first hole for Round 2 at 9 a.m. ET (6 a.m. PT).
