LOS ANGELES -- UCLA sophomore attacker Ryder Dodd (Long Beach, Calif./JSerra Catholic HS) has been named the MPSF West/Delfina Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Dodd led UCLA to a 1-0 record this past week (21-1 overall, 4-1 MPSF West) with a 17-2 blowout win at home over No. 6 Pacific (Nov. 7).

He scored five goals on six shots in the lopsided win over the Tigers, which was the second-largest margin of victory in the series history against Pacific, trailing only a 17-1 win on Nov. 24, 2006. He also added one steal and won his only sprint against the Tigers.

He has scored in all 49 games he has played in his career and has scored multiple goals in 47 of those contests. Additionally, this is the seventh game this season he has scored five or more goals and the 16th time of his career he has accomplished that feat.

This is the eighth career MPSF weekly award for Dodd.

Others Nominated: Alex Gheorghe (Stanford); Robert Lopez Duart (USC).
