December 13, 2025 | Gymnastics
Team Jolly jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two rotations before Team Holly rallied with a 3-2 win in the third rotation and three consecutive wins on floor exercise to pull to within one, 8-7. But senior Jordan Chiles's strong balance beam routine put the team competition out of reach with one matchup to go.

Chiles, fresh off a third-place finish on Dancing with the Stars, went 2-for-2 in the meet, winning both of her head-to-head matchups. Freshmen Ashlee Sullivan and Nola Matthews also won two events for Team Jolly, on uneven bars and vault. Junior Katelyn Rosen, senior Madisyn Anyimi and sophomore Mika Webster-Longin were Team Holly's top point-scorers, winning two matchups each. Rosen and Webster-Longin won on balance beam and floor exercise, while Anyimi claimed her wins on vault and floor exercise. Other highlights included a stuck Yurchenko 1.5 by sophomore Riley Jenkins to lead a Team Jolly sweep in the second rotation, and strong showings by seniors Anyimi and Ciena Alipio on three events each.

"I was really excited about how they did today," said The R.C. Rothman UCLA Head Gymnastics Coach Janelle McDonald. "They really came out, and there was steadiness across the board. They did what they do in training, and I felt they handled coming into Pauley and a crowd really, really well, which was exciting to see."
The Bruins begin the 2026 season on Saturday, Jan. 3 in a quad meet at Washington against the Huskies, California and Oregon State. UCLA's home opener will take place on Saturday, Jan. 17 against Nebraska. Season tickets for the 2026 home meets are on sale now at uclabruins.com/tickets.
