
Solans Ormo Secures Second Team Academic All-America Honors

LOS ANGELES – UCLA redshirt sophomore forward Sergi Solans Ormo has been named a Second Team Division I Academic All-American, it was announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday morning.
Solans Ormo, an International Development Studies major, becomes the first Bruin to earn Academic All-America honors since Tommy Silva in 2023. Among 22 first and second team selections, Solans Ormo was one of three underclassmen listed.
On the field Solans Ormo had a breakout year for the Bruins in 2025, starting and playing in all 19 games, and led the team in goals (16) and points (38). For his efforts, Solans Ormo was named a second-team All-America selection from the United Soccer Coaches, first-team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten Tournament's most outstanding player after recording four goals and two assists in the tournament. Solans Ormo also scored a hat trick in the final of the Big Ten Tournament, becoming the first player in Big Ten Tournament history to record a hat trick in the final.
The redshirt sophomore finished the year with 16 goals and six assists on the year, scored a program record three hat tricks in a single season, and finished the year with a goals per 90 minutes ratio of 0.84, which is tied for fifth nationally.
For the year, Solans Ormo recorded three hat tricks, five game-winning goals, and scored 12 goals in his final six matches. He tallied 1,557 minutes of action in 2025, the third most on the team, and played at least 80 minutes in 11 of his 19 appearances.
