Moors Named College Gym News Breakout Performer of Year

April 28, 2025 | Gymnastics

UCLAย graduate student Brooklyn Moors was tabbed by College Gym News as Co-Breakout Performer of the Year for 2025. The award is given to gymnasts who were successful in 2025 after competing zero to two events to start their careers.
ย
Moors, who was honored along with Michigan's Kayli Boozer, had competed a total of just 41 routines over her first three seasons and competed on multiple events in just 11 total meets prior to this year. In 2025, Moors competed on three events (vault, uneven bars and floor exercise) for the first time since February of 2022. She was a three-event competitor in the team's first 11 meets and competed on vault and floor exercise in all 16 meets. Moors was a dominant presence on floor exercise, winning the NCAA and Big Ten titles and averaging 9.948, the second-highest season average in the nation. She scored her first career perfect 10 on floor at the Big Ten Championships and also set new career highs on vault with a 9.925 at the NCAA Regional semifinal and on beam with a 9.900 three times.
ย
Moors earned first-team All-America honors on floor during the regular season and in the postseason and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection, a Big Ten All-Championships team honoree and an Academic All-Big selection.
