Lexi Wright Nominated for Allstate NACDA Good Works Team

August 05, 2025 | Women's Soccer

UCLA women's soccer redshirt senior Lexi Wright has been announced as a nominee for the inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Fall). The award recognizes male and female student-athletes across all divisions and sports who go above and beyond in their commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic performance.ย

Wright, a forward from Carlsbad, Calif., supports children with cancer through Zoe's Goal-Scoring Against Childhood Cancer, a non-profit organization that raises awareness about pediatric cancer, advocates for research and funding and supports young cancer patients. Wright does regular hospital visits to UCLA's Mattel Children's Hospital to visit with patients.

"Hearing Zoe's story and how she persevered inspired me to use my platform to bring hope and joy to those facing unimaginable challenges," Wright said. "Being so close to the UCLA Hospital gives me and my team the unique opportunity to regularly visit and spend time with these incredible kids. Whether it's playing games, sharing laughs or simply being present, the connection we build brings light to their days โ€“ and ours! Seeing their resilience inspires me every day, and the joy exchanged is something that is always a blessing."

Additionally, Wright has worked with the UCLA campus organization Unified, which plays sports with special needs kids weekly and holds an Inclusive Sports Day. She also volunteers with Football For Her, a non-profit organization that provides a safe space and motivates those who identify as female or non-binary to play, regardless of their economic standing.ย

Wright has won three conference championships and a NCAA title as a member of the UCLA women's soccer team. In 2022, she scored the Bruins' first goal in the national championship game to spark a memorable late-game comeback that led to UCLA winning its second NCAA crown and was named to the College Cup All-Tournament Team. Wright finished that year with eight goals, six assists and 22 points, ranking third on the team in all three categories. She followed up that season with a third-team all-conference nod, again ranking third on the team with six goals and 15 points. She was forced to sit out last year with an injury but earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.

A distinguished selection committee of athletics directors, former athletes and industry leaders will choose the final 20-member team โ€” 10 female and 10 male student-athletes โ€” set to be announced August 26. One student captain will also be named to represent the group. Click here to view the full list of nominees for the 2025-26 Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Fall). The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team now recognizes 60 student-athletes annually across fall, winter and spring seasons, surpassing more than 500 nominees during its first year.
