Nakfoor Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by La Victoria

LOS ANGELES โ Freshman Daphne Nakfoor of UCLA Women's Soccer has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for competitions held between Sept. 2-8.

Freshman goalkeeper Daphne Nakfoor recorded a pair of shutouts last week as the women's soccer team defeated Portland on the road, 2-0, on Sept. 4 and then blanked No. 1 Stanford at home, 2-0, on Sept. 7. Nakfoor made two saves in the Portland match and then recorded nine saves on 21 shots against Stanford, the most saves by a Bruin goalkeeper since Lauren Brzykcy also had nine against Duke in 2022. Nakfoor lowered her goals against average to 0.36 and now has three solo and one shared shutout.ย

The keeper from Carlsbad, Calif., was named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week and the Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Week.
