Larrabee Honored as Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week
January 30, 2026 | Men's Golf
CHICAGO – Sophomore Baylor Larrabee of the UCLA men's golf team has secured Big Ten Conference Men's Golfer of the Week honors, as announced by the Big Ten office on Friday.
Larrabee finished in third place on Wednesday at three-day Southwestern Invitational, becoming UCLA's first men's golf student-athlete to secure the conference's weekly honor since Pablo Ereño in September of 2024. Larrabee notched his second top-four finish of the 2025-26 golf season, shooting 3-under 207 at the three-day event in nearby Westlake Village, Calif.
"Baylor's performance was really impressive," UCLA head coach Armen Kirakossian said. "That's a really difficult golf course with tough conditions and firm, fast greens. I'm proud of Baylor. He's been working hard over the winter break to control the things that he can control, working on his mind, and not allowing himself to be dictated by the outcome of a shot or where he stands in a tournament. We want him to be fully present, to embrace the moment, and to try and execute the best that he can, and to stay as relaxed as possible. I think he did a really good job this week of that. It led him to having a really great result against a strong field at a great tournament. I'm really proud of Baylor, and hopefully he can continue to keep that up this spring."
Larrabee's third-place finish at the Southwestern Invitational marked a career best for the sophomore from Ferndale, Wash. Earlier this fall, he finished in fourth place at the Fighting Irish Classic (Oct. 2025), hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
Larrabee finished with round scores of 68-67-72 at this week's Southwestern Invitational. His most productive round took place on Tuesday (Round 2), as he carded 3-under 67 at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.
No. 21-ranked UCLA will return to action at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Hawaii from Feb. 5-7. That tournament will take place at Mauna Lani Golf Course in Kona, Hawaii (located on the Big Island of Hawaii).
