February 13, 2026 | Women's Volleyball
LOS ANGELES -ย UCLA women's volleyball has solidified its coaching staff under newly-appointed head coach Matt Werle, promoting Stevi Robinson-Trail to Associate Head Coach and naming Bryan Dell'Amico an assistant coach for the Bruins.
Robinson-Trail enters her third season in Westwood after playing a central role in UCLA's return to the NCAA Tournament and its successful transition into the Big Ten Conference. Dell'Amico joins the Bruins following a highly decorated tenure with the Grand Canyon University men's volleyball program, where he was honored as the 2025 AVCA Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.
ย
"I'm incredibly grateful to our new head coach, Matt Werle, for the opportunity to be part of his first coaching staff at UCLA and to continue this journey as Associate Head Coach," Robinson-Trail said. "Kenny Donaldson and Martin Jarmond for their continued support and belief in me. These women and this program mean the world to me. I look forward to continuing the work we've been doing โ developing elite athletes, investing in them as people, and strengthening the connections that make UCLA special. I'm proud to keep growing alongside this team and excited for what's ahead for our program. Go Bruins!"
ย
Robinson-Trail helped guide UCLA to 19 wins in 2025, the highest total of her tenure, highlighted by ranked victories over No. 14 Minnesota, No. 22 USC, and defending national champion Penn State. The Bruins advanced to the NCAA Tournament and secured a first-round win over Georgia Tech after a successful conference campaign that resulted in a sixth-place finish in the league standings.
ย
Working primarily with the defensive specialists and liberos, Robinson-Trail oversaw a dominant season from standout libero Lola Schumacher, who earned First Team AVCA All-Pacific Region honors and led the Big Ten in both digs and digs per set. Schumacher also received All-Big Ten First Team recognition.
ย
Robinson-Trail also played a key role in the development of outside hitter Cheridyn Leverette, who delivered a breakout junior season culminating in AVCA All-America honors and First Team All-Big Ten recognition. Leverette and middle blocker Anna Dodson both earned AVCA All-Region accolades under her guidance. Dodson later signed a professional contract with Cuneo Granda Volley of Italy's Serie A1.
ย
Dell'Amico arrives in Westwood as one of the nation's most accomplished rising coaches, bringing more than 17 years of experience across the collegiate, club, and high school levels. He joins UCLA after a historic run at Grand Canyon University, where he served as Assistant Coach and later Co-Head Coach for the men's volleyball program.
"It's such an honor to get the opportunity to be a part of such a storied program like UCLA," Dell'Amico said. "I want to thank the administration for believing in us to lead this group of women. I also want to thank Matt [Werle]. I'm honored that he has included me on this amazing journey with him. The UCLA family made a great choice in Matt. Together Matt, Stevi and I will give everything we have to help these young ladies achieve their dreams. Go Bruins!"
