Women's Water Polo Puts 13 on MPSF All-Academic List

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. โ Thirteen Bruins were named Tuesday to the 6-8 Sports/MPSF Women's Water Polo 2026 All-Academic Team, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced. The list consists of five third-time honorees, two second-timers and six first-timers.
In order to qualify for the team, a student-athlete must have a 3.00-or-better cumulative grade-point average, be no lower than a sophomore in academic standing, have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions and have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received. Just two other programs (San Jose State and Stanford) were able to match UCLA's total. Each had 14 fulfill the requirements.
Seniors Lily Gess (history major), Carly McMurray (sociology), Anna Pearson (sociology), Genoa Rossi (political science) and Taylor Smith (psychobiology) make up the quartet of three-time members. Making the cut for the second time were redshirt senior Emma Lineback (psychology), and junior Lauren Steele (political science).
Sophomores Ana Pieper (political science), Tali Stryker (undeclared) and Jojo Walters (business economics) were recognized in their first year eligible. Rounding out the list were senior Bia Mantellato and juniors Dania Innis and Joey Niz.
