Muagututia Earns All-MPSF Honors

UCLA senior outside hitter Garrett Muagututia was one of dozens of players named to the 2010 All-MPSF Teams, the conference announced Thursday. He was the only UCLA player named.
Muagututia, 22, earned his third straight second-team all-conference honor after leading the Bruins in kills (430), kills per set (3.91), points (493.5) and points per set (4.49) this season. Among the nominees at his position, he owned the highest service reception percentage (.980). He also ranked second this season in digs (216), digs per set (1.96), aces (32) and aces per set (0.29).
The 6-5 native of Oceanside will lead UCLA (16-13) in its MPSF Quarterfinal match Saturday against BYU (21-8) in Provo, UT.
