Kelyn Rowe Leads U.S. To 4-0 Win Over Suriname

March 29, 2011
UCLA freshman midfielder Kelyn Rowe scored a goal and set up another in the United States' 4-0 win over win over Suriname in the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.
Rowe had a hand in the last two goals, sending in a cross to Conor Doyle in the 41st minute. Doyle headed the ball on goal, and Suriname goalkeeper Claidel Kohinor made the stop but was unable to hold onto the ball, which spilled past the goal line. Rowe scored the final goal in the 81st minute. With Suriname playing short-handed due to a red card, Rowe blasted a low shot near post past Kohinor for the final score.
Also playing in the game for the U.S. was Amobi Okugo, who played one season for UCLA in 2009 before turning pro. Okugo started and played in the first half. Bruin junior Eder Arreola was on the bench but did not see action.
The U.S. will continue Group B play against Panama on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 3 pm ET. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.
