Senior infielder Megan Grant is a Top 3 Finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, softball’s most prestigious honor. The winner of the award will be announced on Tuesday, May 26 during the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year banquet in Oklahoma City, Okla. prior to the start of the Women’s College World Series (WCWS). Grant and the Bruins punched their ticket to the WCWS following a Super Regional sweep of UCF at Easton Stadium on May 22-23.

Notes on Grant’s historic 2026 campaign:

Grant has hit an NCAA-record 40 home runs this season.
Grant is on pace to set the NCAA single-season slugging record (1.333).
Grant is the NCAA leader in home runs (40), slugging percentage (1.333), on-base percentage (.650), OPS (1.983) and walks (74), with all five of those marks leading all previous USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award winners.
Grant’s 74 walks are tied for most by a player in NCAA softball in the last 14 years.
Grant also ranks top-10 in the nation in batting average (.469) and total bases (196).
Grant has reached base in 156 of her 240 plate appearances, and in 58 of 60 games.
Grant has struck out only 12 times in 240 plate appearances.
When pitchers give her the opportunity to swing, Grant has homered in 27.2% of her 147 at-bats.
Forty of Grant’s 69 hits are home runs (58.0%).
Grant leads all active players in career home runs (89) and ranks second in career total bases (564) and third in RBIs (267).
Grant broke the NCAA single-season home run record with her 38th of the year vs. Nebraska at the Big Ten Tournament on May 9.
Grant logged a career-long 19-game hitting streak earlier this season. She also opened 2026 with a 37-game reached base streak.
Against UC Riverside on Feb. 8, Grant became the second player in UCLA history to have a three-HR game (other: Monica Harrison).
With 89 career home runs, Grant is one shy of tying Stacey Nuveman's UCLA program record of 90.
Grant has 10 career multi-homer games, which ranks third in UCLA history. She has five in 2026.
Grant is one of three players in UCLA history to have two 20+ homer seasons (others: Stacey Nuveman and Jordan Woolery).
A two-sport athlete, Grant suited up in 14 games as a reserve for the 2025-25 NCAA Champion UCLA Women's Basketball team.
