An All-America golfer at UCLA in 1983, Steve Pate would become even more successful as a professional. Pate joined the PGA Tour in 1985 and through the 2000 season had won six tournaments and recorded top-10 finishes at all of golf's majors. He played internationally for the United States team at the Kirin Cup (1989), the Ryder Cup (1991 and 1999) and the Dunhill Cup (1991). He also is the host of an annual golf tournament that benefits several Los Angeles-area charities.
