Bruins Beat Trojans for 13th Straight Time

LOS ANGELES - Defending NCAA champion UCLA recorded its fifth sweep of the season by defeating cross-town rival USC Wednesday at the Trojans North Gym.
The Bruins (7-2, 5-1) won 15-5, 15-10, 15-10 in one hour and 40 minutes before 1,250 fans by hitting .395, limiting the Trojans (6-2, 5-1) to a .176 hitting percentage and dominating the net by outblocking them 12.5-3.0.
The victory was UCLA's 13th straight over USC.
Individually, Adam Naeve hit .586 with 19 kills and a match-high seven total blocks. Junior Evan Thatcher led UCLA with 20 kills and senior Danny Farmer added 12.
The Trojans got a team-high 15 kills from freshman Brook Billings.
UCLA will travel to San Diego this weekend for league matches against San Diego State (Feb. 12) and UC San Diego (Feb. 13).
