UC Santa Barbara was unable to defend against the offensive power of third-ranked UCLA (16-2, 5-0) in the 12-1 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation defeat on Friday. The Gauchos are now 6-12, 0-4 in MPSF play.

The Bruins took control of the game by outscoring the Gauchos 9-1 in the first half of play. UCSB came out strong in the second half by only allowing three Bruin goals. However, the Gauchos were unable to put together an offensive attack and went scoreless in the half.

Erin Golabowski scored four goals to lead the Bruins, while teammate Jessica Lopez scored three. Megan Wertz scored the only goal for the Gauchos.
