Men's Volleyball Team Drops Four-Game Match To BYU

The top-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team was defeated 3-1 by second ranked BYU Friday night at BYU's Smith Fieldhouse.
BYU (9-0, 5-0) won 30-22, 28-30, 30-26, 30-22 in front of 5,091 spectators.
The Bruins (10-4, 5-2) suffered their first loss in six matches.
Sophomore Cameron Mount recorded 10 kills and junior Ian Burnham had nine for a UCLA hitting attack that was held to a .139 percentage.
BYU controlled the net by out-blocking the Bruins 14.5-10 and hitting at a .344 clip. Mike Wall pounded 22 kills (.541) for the Cougars and Matt Olson added 21. The Cougars even out-served the Bruins, four aces to one.
The Bruins return home next week for matches against UC Santa Cruz on Mar. 2 and UC San Diego on Mar. 3.
