Los Angeles, CA -- The top-ranked UCLA Bruins tennis team remained undefeated on the season after defeating Cal Poly, 7-0 this afternoon at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins improved to 15-0 overall (5-0 Pac-10), while Cal Poly falls to 6-7 overall with the setback.

UCLA earned the first point of the match after sweeping all the doubles matches. The tandem of Erfan Djahangiri and Lassi Ketola defeated Nick Carless and Mike Marquez, 8-2 to clinch the doubles point for the Bruins.

In singles, the Bruins claimed all six matches in straight sets. Senior Chris Sands clinched the victory at No. 6 as he downed Stacy Meronoff, 6-2, 6-0.

The Bruins return to action this Friday (Mar. 30) in a match against cross town rival No. 22 USC at the LA Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm.
