Box Score

Los Angeles, Calif. - A 29th-minute goal by Loyola Marymount forward Arturo Torres stood as the deciding goal as the 11th-ranked UCLA men's soccer team was upset by Loyola Marymount, 1-0, at UCLA's Frank W. Marshall Field.

The play started when Kevin Novak fed Andres Murriagui with a pass down the right flank. Murriagui crossed it to a streaking Torres in the box, and Torres fired a shot that beat UCLA keeper Zach Wells.

Torres nearly scored again in the 69th minute after Bruin forward Cliff McKinley was yellow-carded for a hand ball in the box, but Torres' ensuing penalty kick hit the right post.

A minute later, McKinley received his second yellow card on a tackle and was forced to the bench. He will miss UCLA's match at San Diego on Friday, Oct. 5.

UCLA's record drops to 3-3-2. Loyola Marymount, which has now won six consecutive matches, improves to 6-3.
