Matt Taylor Selected UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior forward Matt Taylor (Irvine, CA/Irvine HS) of the UCLA Men's Soccer Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 2-8.

Taylor had a hand in five of UCLA's seven goals in a 7-1 win over Penn State in the NCAA Quarterfinals, recording his first career hat trick and also adding two assists. Taylor scored at 75:25, 80:45 and 87:03 to help the Bruins advance to the NCAA College Cup for the second time in four years.

He now leads the team with eight assists and ranks second in goals scored with 11 and points with 30. All of his numbers are career-bests.

This is Taylor's first UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and the second of his career.
