The UCLA men's volleyball team lost 3-0 to BYU Friday night in Provo, UT in the first of a two-match league series.
BYU won 30-27, 30-21, 30-26 in one hour and 40 minutes before 4,980 fans at Smith Fieldhouse.
The loss dropped UCLA's record to 4-4 overall, 1-3 in conference play. BYU improved to 4-1 overall and in league play.
Juniors J.T. Wenger and Chris Pena led the Bruins with 11 and 10 kills respectively.
BYU won the battle at the net, out-blocking the Bruins 10-5.
Jonathan Alleman led the Cougars with 13 kills (.632).
The two teams meet tomorrow night at 7 p.m. MST.
