
Jamie Dantzscher Selected UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, CA/San Dimas HS) of the UCLA Women's Gymnastics Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 3-9.
Dantzscher was 0.025 away from complete perfection this weekend, scoring three perfect 10s and a 9.975 in four routines against two Top 15 nationally-ranked opponents.
Dantzscher led UCLA to a school record total of 198.575 against 13th-ranked Washington on Sunday afternoon. She recorded perfect 10s on vault (her first 10 on vault this year) and on floor (her third 10 in four floor routines this year) and just missed out on a 10.0 on bars, scoring a 9.975 to tie for first place. Her 10 on vault helped UCLA achieve a school-record tying team total of 49.7. UCLA's final team score is tied for the highest mark ever scored by in collegiate competition, matching Georgia's score set at the 1998 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships.
On Friday at No. 8 Stanford, Dantzscher competed on just one event due to an ankle injury (she had missed the previous week's meet entirely) but made the most out of her one moment, scoring a perfect 10 on the uneven bars. Her score helped UCLA earn a team total of 197.45, its second-highest road score of the year.
This is Dantzscher?s first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and the seventh of her career.
