Senior guard Ray Young (East Oakland, Calif./St. Joseph Notre Dame) of the UCLA men's basketball team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 17-24.

Filling in for an injured Cedric Bozeman, Young started at point guard for the first time in his career last week. In UCLA's win over No. 20 California on Thursday, he scored a season-best 18 points, going 6-for-13 from the field, including two three pointers. He also finished that game with a season-high tying four assists and added five rebounds, with just three turnovers in 36 minutes. In UCLA's loss to Stanford on Saturday, Young scored a career-high tying 22 points. He was 6-for-8 overall, going 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. He finished with a season-high five assists.

This is Young's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and his career.
