
UCLA Sweeps LaVerne for Fifth Straight Victory

The UCLA men's volleyball team defeated LaVerne 3-0 in Pauley Pavilion to extend its winning streak to five straight matches.
The Bruins (10-7) won 30-13, 30-16, 30-14 in 52 minutes before 383 fans. The Leopards fell to 4-8 overall.
Junior Allan Vince led UCLA with nine kills (.500), four total blocks, four digs and an ace, and sophomore Jonathan Acosta added seven kills (.308), six digs and two aces. Freshman Matt McKinney came off the bench in Game 3 and spiked five kills (1.000).
The Bruins controlled the net, out-blocking the Leopards 10.0-4.5 and limiting the opposition to a hitting percentage of -.065. UCLA hit .440 for the match, including .652 in Game 3.
The Bruins will travel to Long Beach State Fri., Feb. 28 for a 7:30 p.m. showdown against the 49ers. On Sat., Mar. 1, UCLA visits UC San Diego for a 7 p.m. match.
Next home match for UCLA is Wed., Mar. 5 against Lewis at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
