
Bruins Lose in Four at Long Beach State

The UCLA men's volleyball team lost in four games to Long Beach State Friday night, snapping the Bruins' winning streak at five matches.
The Bruins (10-8, 6-7) lost 31-33, 31-29, 24-30, 24-30 before 1,021 fans at The Pyramid. Long Beach State raised its record to 11-7 overall 7-6 in league play.
Sophomore Jonathan Acosta and junior Allan Vince each posted 16 kills. Sophomore Gray Garrett aced the 49ers four times.
But The Beach controlled the net, out-blocking the Bruins 15.0-10.5 and outhitting them .457-.328.
Senior Scott Touzinsky led the 49ers with 25 kills and hit .488.
The Bruins travel to UC San Diego Sat., Mar. 1 for a 7 p.m. conference match. UCLA returns home Wed., Mar. 5 for a 7 p.m. non-conference match in Pauley Pavilion against Lewis.
