No. 2 UCLA crushed UC Santa Cruz 19-0 to advance to the championship game of the Stanford Invitational. The Bruins will face No. 1 Stanford in a rematch of last year's NCAA title game.
The Bruins finished bracket play at the Stanford Invitational in dominating fashion, to improve their record to 3-0. UCLA's freshman continued their outstanding play at the tournament with freshman Katherine Belden leading all Bruin scorers with three goals. Kristyn Pulver, Kelly Rulon, Paloma Slezak and Leah Wilson all finished with two goals. Katie Flanagan, Lauren Heineck, Mari Joyce, Kristina Kunkel, Jessica Lopez, Devon McIntyre, Jody Schmidt and Ashley Stachowski each scored one goal. In her first career start for the Bruins freshman Tahlia Kerr had eleven saves
The championship game will be played at 5:00 PM at the Avery Pool. No. 1 Stanford was also undefeated in bracket play and is 4-0 on the year.
