
Sara Platzer Selected UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior Sara Platzer (Lakewood, WA/Lakes HS) of the UCLA Women's Swimming & Diving Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of Feb. 24-Mar. 2.
Platzer contributed a meet-high 130 points in seven races as UCLA defeated defending conference champion Stanford for the 2003 Pac-10 title, the Bruins' second in three years.
Platzer placed second in the 50 Free (22.66), third in the 100 Free with a career-best time of 49.28 and eighth in the 200 Free (1:51.68). She also anchored the Bruins' 200 Free Relay (second, 1:31.18), 400 Free Relay (third, 3:20.49) and 400 Medley Relay (fourth, 3:41.94) and swam the third leg of the 800 Free Relay (fourth, 7:18.08).
This is Platzer's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and her career.
