Bruins Win Two In San Diego

No. 3 UCLA Defeats No. 6 Loyola Marymount Behind Six Goals from Junior Natalie Golda

The Bruins remained undefeated at the UCSB Invitational with a 12-5 victory over Loyola Marymount. UCLA moved to 8-3 overall (3-2 in the MPSF) and will face No. 2 USC tomorrow at 11:30 AM in a game that will determine which team advances to the championship match. Against Loyola Marymount, the Bruins got out to a 6-4 through two quarters and in the second half the Bruins defense and offense came alive holding LMU to one goal while scoring six. Natalie Golda was outstanding in the match, scoring a career high six goals. Golda now leads all tournament scorers with eight goals.

Along with Golda's six goals, Senior Jessica Lopez recorded a hat trick and Ashley Stachowski, Maureen Flanagan and Lauren Heineck each scored once. The Bruins continue tournament play tomorrow against No. 2 USC in the teams third meeting of the season. If UCLA wins they will advance to the championship game to be played at 4:10 PM.

Earlier today UCLA defeated Redlands 14-2 behind three goals from Senior Mari Joyce.
