Las Vegas, NV - The second-ranked UCLA men's soccer team nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback against 13th-ranked Creighton but fell just short in a 3-2 loss at the UNLV/FILA Invitational in Las Vegas, NV.

Down 3-0 with six minutes to play, the Bruins' offense came to life. Freshman Richard Flores chipped away at the lead with a header off a Chad Barrett cross at the 83:59 mark.

Sophomore Benny Feilhaber pulled UCLA to within one with 23 seconds to play, scoring on a shot down the middle, but the Bruins just ran out of time.

Creighton got on the scoreboard just 26 seconds into the match on an own goal. Vince Odorisio was credited with the goal. Jarod Tarver added another goal at 10:24 with a shot from 10 yards out to the left post, and Brett Rodriguez closed the Bluejays' scoring at 41:58 on a chip shot.

The Bruins outshot Creighton, 12-6, but Bluejay goalkeeper made six saves. Nate Pena had two saves in goal for UCLA.

UCLA (2-1) will next face host UNLV on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 12 pm.
