
Bruins Sweep Gauchos in SAC Tournament

The UCLA men's volleyball team swept UC Santa Barbara in the second day of competition of the SAC Tournament held at UCLA on Saturday.
The Bruins won 30-25, 32-30, 30-25 in less than 90 minutes front of a full house at the Student Activities Center, formerly the old Men's Gym. UCLA raised its preseason record to 7-1.
In the other second round match, Cal State Northridge defeated USC 30-27, 30-19, 30-21.
Freshman Sean O'Malley led the Bruins with 16 kills (.580) and senior Paul George added 15 kills (.680), two blocks and a pair of aces. Senior Damine Scott led UCLA with three blocks and added an ace. Libero Tony Ker led the Bruins with seven digs and setter Dennis Gonzalez added five.
In this afternoon's final matches, UC Santa Barbara will meet USC at 2 p.m., followed by the UCLA-Cal State Northridge match at 3 p.m. All matches will be played in the Student Activities Center and admission is free.
