Freshman Anjelica Selden (Vacaville, CA/Vanden HS) of the UCLA Softball Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 31-June 8.

Selden led UCLA to the championship series at the Women's College World Series, hurling two shutouts and recording 59 strikeouts in six games, including double-figure strikeout totals in the last five games. The freshman was named to the WCWS All-Tournament Team and finished the season with 485 strikeouts, good for second place on the Pac-10 all-time single-season list and 11th in NCAA Division I history.

This is Selden's third UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
