Freshman Kara Lang (Oakville, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas) of the UCLA Women's Soccer Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 22-28.

Lang tallied seven points in her first two collegiate matches, including a hat trick in the Bruins' 4-1 victory at San Diego on Sunday. Her first goal of the match came on a 30-yard free kick. Lang also added an assist in her collegiate debut during UCLA's 3-0 season-opening victory over Long Beach State on Friday. Lang, who led the team in shots during both matches, becomes the 13th UCLA player and seventh freshman to record a hat trick since the program's inception back in 1993.

This is Lang's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
