
UCLA Falls in Four Games to Long Beach State

The UCLA men's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Long Beach State in the championship match of the UCSB/Elephant Bar Collegiate Invitational Saturday night.
The 49ers won 25-30, 36-34, 30-25, 30-22 in two hours at the UCSB Events Center. The victory raised The Beach's record to 3-0, while the Bruins fell to 2-1.
Junior Paul George recorded a career-high of 18 kills and 22 points, while senior Nick Scheftic added 14 kills and seven total blocks. Senior Damien Scott added 10 kills and freshman Jamie Diefenbach recorded six total blocks.
Long Beach State's Robert Tarr led both teams with 21 kills.
The Bruins' road trip continues next week with a league match at UC Irvine on Fri., Jan. 13.
