Santa Barbara, Calif. - In the first day of the Gaucho Invitational, the largest collegiate women's water polo tournament in the country, the Bruins defeated No. 13 UC Davis, 10-1 and No. 10 San Jose State, 12-2. UCLA (10-1, 4-0) will face the winner of the California vs. Stanford matchup at 11:30 am on Sunday.

If the No. 2 Bruins win their first game on Sunday, they will advance to the championship game at 4:10 PM.

During the first halves of both games, UCLA dominated, outscoring its opponents 13-1. The victory over San Jose State is the second win over the Spartans for the season. Earlier in the day, San Jose State defeated Long Beach State 7-6 in triple overtime. UC Davis went on to lose 7-5 to Long Beach State later during the day.

Over the two games, Kelly Rulon scored five goals and Jillian Kraus added four. The one goal allowed against San Jose State is the fewest goals allowed for a game this season.
