Irvine, Calif. - The second-ranked UCLA women's water polo team defeated the ninth-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils, 11-7 in the Quarterfinals of the MPSF Tournament at UC Irvine. The Bruins move their record to 25-3, 11-1 in the MPSF conference and will face Stanford on Saturday in the Semifinals at 2:45 PM.
The Bruins scored four goals in the first quarter to take an early lead and added two more in the second quarter to take a 6-3 halftime lead. UCLA outscored the Sun Devils as well in the last two quarters, eventually winning 11-7.
Kelly Rulon led the Bruins in scoring with three goals. Kristina Kunkel, Jillian Kraus, and Brittany Rowe added two. Goalkeeper Emily Feher had seven saves.
