Brandon Johnson highlighted the Bruin men on day two of the NCAA Track & Field Championships as the senior advanced to the semifinal round of the 400m hurdles after running the seventh-fastest time of the day in the qualifying rounds. His time of 51.08 was second in heat two as he shut it down the final stretch of the race. Johnson will run on Friday evening in the semifinal, with the final being held on Saturday.

Also on Thursday, junior John Caulfield competed in the qualifying rounds of the shot put. He finished 10th in flight two and 18th overall with a mark of 57-10.25.

On Friday, Mike Landers will compete in his final collegiate event as he jumps in the finals of the pole vault. Austin Ramos will also compete in the 5000m final on Friday evening, while Greg Garza and Jason Rider will throw in the discus final.
