
Ninth-Ranked Men's Tennis Downs Stanford, 5-2

Stanford, Calif. - The ninth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team moved to 2-0 on the season on Friday, as the Bruins downed Pac-10 rival Stanford, 5-2 at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
After dropping the first doubles match of the day, the Bruins took the point with a pair of wins at court Nos. 1 and 2. The point was clinched at the No. 2 position, where Mathieu Dehaine and Holden Seguso notched an 8-4 victory over Matt Bruch/Ted Kelly.
Stanford, however, quikly tied things up in singles play, as Blake Muller downed UCLA's Michael Look, 6-0, 6-3 at court No. 4. UCLA managed to take the next three singles matches to clinch the win, as Nick Meister (court No. 6), Dehaine (court No. 3) and Jeremy Drean (court No. 5) all posted straight-set wins. Drean clinched the match with a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Kevin Kaiser.
UCLA's Harel Srugo also won in singles, as he benefitted from a retirement by Bruch at court No. 1. Bruch had won the first set 7-6 and was leading 3-2 at the time of his retirement.
UCLA faces Cal tomorrow in Berkeley beginning at 1:00 p.m.
