Four Bruins competed on day one of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Columbus, OH on Thursday as Marisa Samaniego highlighted the quartet with her 17th-place finish on one meter. Samaniego missed advancing to the finals by just one spot and 1.10 points as she finished with a total score of 265.75.

In swimming action, junior Anna Poteete was 24th in the 50 free with her time of 22.73. In the 200 individual medley, freshman Lauren Hall placed 49th in a time of 2:02.39, while senior Nicolette Teo was 57th, swimming 2:02.98.

Arizona leads the team competition with 151 points, followed by Auburn (132), California (89), Texas A&M (88) and Stanford (80).

On Friday, competition continues with Samaniego on three meter, Hall in the 400 IM, Poteete in the 200 free and Teo swimming the 100 breast.
