Los Angeles, Calif. - With the seconds ticking down to a penalty kick shootout, UCLA junior midfielder Eder Arreola ended the game with a golden goal with eight seconds left in the second overtime to give the Bruins a 2-1 win and a date with top-seeded Louisville in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Arreola's goal was set up after a long throw-in by Joe Sofia. Sofia's throw-in was headed up by a Dartmouth defender in the box, and Arreola followed through by tapping the ball into the goal for his second goal of the night.

Arreola had put UCLA up 1-0 at the 25:55 mark on a curling shot to the upper right corner after a series of passes from Reed Williams and Chandler Hoffman. The Bruins took the 1-0 lead into halftime but Dartmouth equalized at 59:34 after Bryan Giudicelli knocked in a rebound shot in front of the box.

The Bruins nearly regained their lead just seconds after Dartmouth's tying goal when a cross just missed a charging Victor Chavez at the right post. Arreola had a shot hit the left post in the 72nd minute, and Evan Raynr had a hard shot go wide in the 74th minute. Chavez had another near miss when his shot hit the side netting after a steal.

With the game looking destined for penalty kicks, which would have been UCLA's first shootout in 20 years, Arreola put an end to the contest with his game-winner, his third goal of the season.

"It's unreal," Arreola said after the game. "Words cannot describe this feeling right now. It's a dream come true. I've been waiting for this day when I could score at Drake Stadium, and today I was able to score for the team and help us get to the next round."

UCLA held a close 20-18 advantage in shots. Bruin goalkeeper Brian Rowe totaled six saves, while Dartmouth goalkeeper Lyman Missimer tallied four.

The Bruins (16-4-1) advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. They will face top-seeded and undefeated Louisville (18-0-3) in Cardinal Park on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7 pm ET. Dartmouth ends its season with a 12-7-1 mark.
