Third-ranked UCLA got back on track with a three-set victory on the road against unranked Pacific on Saturday.

Twenty-four hours after suffering a sweep in Palo Alto to Stanford, the Bruins recovered with a 30-26, 30-26, 30-27 triumph against the Tigers. UCLA improved to 7-6 overall, 6-4 in league play. Pacific fell to 6-9, 0-8.

Senior Garrett Muagututia led the Bruins with 14 kills (.333), followed by sophomore Jeremy Casebeer's 12 (.625). Casebeer also added an ace and three total blocks for 15.0 points. Sophomore Nick Vogel scored 12.0 points on six kills (.364), an ace and eight total blocks. Two players, senior setter Kevin Ker and Thomas Amberg, torched UOP for three aces.

On Saturday, the Bruins were much more successful at the service line than Friday night, serving nine aces. They also hit .323 and limited their hosts to an attack percentage of .277.

Taylor Hughes led Pacific with 15 kills and 17.0 points.

The Bruins will continue their road trip next week with a match at UCSB on Feb. 17 before returning home for an eight-match homestand.
