Bruins Fall into a Tie for Fifth after Two Rounds in Hawaii

The 13th-ranked UCLA men's golf team fell into a tie for fifth place after the second round of the 20th Annual Mauna Lani Invitational at the North Course in Waikoloa, HI.

Washington took the second round lead at 578 (+2) following its round of 287 (-1) on Thursday. Stanford was second at 580 (+4), followed by Oregon at 581 (+5) and Oklahoma State at 584 (+8). The Bruins were tied with Texas and Texas Tech at 589 (+13) following their round of 301 (+13).

Individually for UCLA, Gregor Main moved up the leader board into a tie for fourth place with a second round score of 70 (-2) and a two round total of 143 (-1). Freshman Pontus Widegren was tied for eighth at 145 (+1) after posting a second-round score of 73 (+1). Sophomore Alex Shi Yup Kim fell from the top of the leader board into a tie for 17th at 146 (+2) after carding a 76 (+4). Freshmen Pedro Figueiredo and Bobby Lange each posted scores of 82 (+10) in the second round. Figueiredo was tied for 68th at 155 (+11) and Lange was tied for 84th at 158 (+14).

Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway took over the 36-hole lead at 140 (-4) with a score of 68 (-4) on Thursday.
