
Bruins Sweep Series in Hawaii

Fourth-ranked UCLA beat No. 6 Hawaii for the second straight night Friday in Honolulu and will return to the mainland with a two-match winning streak and showers of confidence.
The Bruins won 30-26, 23-30, 30-26, 30-28 in two hours and 43 minutes in front of 3,951 fans at the Stan Sheriff Center. The victory raised the Bruins' overall record to 6-5 and improved their league mark to 5-3. Hawaii fell to 6-5, 4-4.
Once again, senior Garrett Muagututia led the Bruins with 25 kills (.476) and 27 points. Sophomores Jack Polales and Thomas Amberg also were in double figures, recording 16 and 14 kills, respectively. Senior setter Kevin Ker recorded another productive night with two kills, three aces, two total blocks, 58 assists and 6.5 points.
In team statistics, UCLA recorded an attack percentage of .371 with 70 kills, eight aces and 7.5 total blocks. The Warriors hit .348, served six aces and added nine total blocks.
Joshua Walker led the Warriors with 25 kills and 27.5 points.
