
Clark & Woepse Highlight Men's Track & Field On Final Day of New Mexico Classic

Jonathan Clark and Greg Woepse highlighted the men's track and field team on the final day of competition at the New Mexico Classic in Albuquerque as both posted top 20 marks in the NCAA in their respective events.
Clark won the triple jump with a mark of 51-9.25. That performance ranks 13th in the NCAA this season. Woepse was the top collegiate finisher in the pole vault (2nd overall) with a clearance of 17-1. That mark is tied for 19th-best in the NCAA this season. Also in the vault, 2009 graduate Bobby Talley was third overall, also with a clearance of 17-1.
In the 400m, David Klarer finished sixth overall with a lifetime-best run of 49.05. Matthew Bedford was 15th (50.12) and Quentin Powell was 30th (52.63). In the 60m, R.J. Fraser was 14th overall with a time of 7.04. Randall Carroll was slated to compete in the 60m, but was held out for precautionary reasons after suffering cramps in his hamstring during Friday's 200m contest.
In the shot put, Bo Taylor was forced to withdraw due to injury. Mark Weber finished eighth (53-3), while Nigel Davies was ninth (51-10.50).
The men will continue the indoor season next weekend as they compete at the Husky Classic in Seattle, WA.
