Bruins Move into First after Two Rounds in Tennessee

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team climbed into first place after two rounds at the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview in Franklin, TN.

The Bruins vaulted from a tie for third place into first place on Saturday on the strength of a second round score of 283 (-5). UCLA's total of 579 (+3) is six shots ahead of runner-up Alabama (585, +9). North Carolina was third at 588 (+12), followed by Arizona State at 589 (+13). Tied for fifth were Duke and Virginia at 590 (+14).

Individually, junior Tiffany Lua and sophomore Ani Gulugian posted the Bruins' best scores of the day, three-under par 69s. Lua moved into second place at 142 (-2) and Gulugian was tied for eighth at 145 (+1). Also tied for eighth was freshman Erynne Lee, who posted a second round score of 72 (E). Junior Lee Lopez was tied for 26th at 148 (+4) after a 74 (+2). Freshman Kyle Roig was tied for 34th at 150 (+6) following a round of 73 (+1).

Alabama's Jennifer Kirby took the 36-hole lead at 138 (-6) following a round of 66 (-6) on Saturday.
