
UCLA Keeps Pace at Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship

Five of six UCLA players posted scores under par on Saturday, enabling the Bruins to keep pace with Oregon at the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis Ore.
The Ducks flew into the third-round lead, thanks to a 16-under par round of 344 on Saturday, but the Bruins, who were in first place to start the day, managed to keep pace with a round of nine-under par 351. At the end of the day, Oregon led at 1,066 (-14), followed by UCLA at 1,070 (-10). Cal was third at 1,072 (-8). Oregon State and USC were tied at even par 1,080.
The Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship is a six-player, count-five event over 72 holes.
Individually, sophomore Patrick Cantlay continued his fine play, posting a one-under par 71 for a 54-hole total of 210 (-6), good enough for fourth place and four shots behind the leaders. Junior Pedro Figueiredo was fifth at 211 (-5) after carding a 71 (-1) and sophomore Anton Arboleda was tied for sixth at 212 (-4) following a round of 69 (-3). Freshman Jay Hwang also moved up the leaderboard with a round of 69 (-3) and was tied for 19th at 217 (+1). Hwang has played the last 36 holes in six-under par. Senior Alex Shi Yup Kim was tied for 33rd at 220 (+4) after posting a 71 (-1). Finally, junior Pontus Widegren was tied for 56th at 228 (+12) following a round of 73 (+1).
Oregon's Daniel Miernicki fired a third-round 66 (-6) and teammate Eugene Wong posted a 69 (-3). Both players were tied for first place at 10-under par 206.
