Alexa Tielmann led the Bruins with two goals and had the final goal in the 5-0 run. Also scoring in the run were Alys Williams, India Forster, and Becca Dorst. After the Aztecs' lone goal by Ioli Benekou in the third quarter, Mackenzie Barr increased UCLA's lead to 6-1 with a goal. Emily Donohoe closed the scoring with a goal in the fourth quarter, her team-leading 26th of the season.
Bruin goalkeeper Sami Hill had eight saves in the match and allowed just one goal, the fewest allowed by a Bruin team since Mar. 5, 2011, when UCLA defeated Arizona State, 8-1.
UCLA will play again at 4:45pm against the winner of the Hawaii vs. UC San Diego match.
